THE UNDERWATER FINE ART PORTRAITURE WORKSHOP
Join award winning, underwater, fine art, portrait photographer, Cheryl Walsh, for a look into her process photographing people underwater. She will share her philosophies on the art and science of underwater photography and the importance of addressing both before ever entering the water.
The class will consist of planning out an entire project from inception of idea to final printed photograph. Attendees will be able to view pre-recorded films of behind the scenes as the shoot progresses from multiple camera points of view. Cheryl will give live commentary. From poolside watch as Cheryl prepares her camera equipment, lighting, and pool for the shoot. Listen in as she talks her model through styling and posing during a shoot and hear her model give tips on underwater modeling. See how she lights her models and dramatically changes the look of her photos with simple changes.
View her RAW files, all the layers of a fully edited image, and discuss the importance of paper choice before seeing the final print.
There will be time at the end of the course for a question and answer period.
We will cover the following:
Art – Concept, shoot planning, models, styling
Science – Safety, pool prep, working in an ever changing environment
Essential elements of a successful shoot – camera equipment, backgrounds, lighting
Post processing – Adobe Lightroom to Photoshop
The final Print – printer, paper choices, selling prints
Q&A will take place during and following the live and pre-recorded segments of the class for attendees.

Photographer Cheryl Walsh has spent the past 12 years conquering the science of swimming pool-based underwater fine art portrait photography. Her mastery of the science allows her to express her own unique artistic vision.

Featuring Canon’s PRO Series imagePrograf 2100 Large Format Printer and BenQ PhotoVue SW321C Wide Gamut monitor, Eric Joseph, will be conducting printing demonstrations at the Canson-Infinity booth. Photographer Cheryl Walsh will be on hand to answer questions.
Committed to printing excellence and focused on education, Eric will print an image from your thumb drive on papers from Canson Infinity. This workshop is FREE and will cover any and all questions you have about fine art digital printmaking from monitor to print.
If you truly want to learn how to make a perfect print and take the frustration out of inkjet printing, you will not want to miss this! We want to help you and contribute to your success as a digital printmaker.
This is not intended as a FREE print service but as an educational opportunity and will be conducted as a workshop!

• Selecting the right paper for your work that expresses your unique artistic signature
• Purchasing the printer that matches your needs
• Custom Paper Profiles
Bring a thumb drive or flash drive with a single image (not 100 or 1,000) and Eric will engage with you and help you understand digital printing and make it fun again!
Files must be sized to at least 11x17 inches at 300 ppi and formatted as a flattened RGB TIFF or JPGs. We will make an effort to print for as many folks as possible in the time allowed, but prints are not guaranteed!
